Hemorrhoids And Brazillians

ORDER TO BREAK THE GRIDAS! - Public Meeting

Dear all,
we are in a position of having to appeal to all of you in support of GRIDAS.

What is GRIDAS:

The GRIDAS, group awakening from sleep, is a cultural non-profit organization founded in 1981 by Felice Pignataro, Mirella La Magna, Franco Vicario and other people gathered by the intention common to put their artistic talents and cultural service to others for a reawakening of dormant consciences and to stimulate active participation in society. The
GRIDAS work continuously for almost 30 years in Naples, characterized mainly by the more than 250 murals in every part of Italy, but also for the Carnival of the district promoted to Scampia and now in its 28th edition, to support creative and given to all the cultural reality in the fight for the rights of the weakest.
Since March 2004, with the death of Felice Pignataro, the GRIDAS has not ceased its activities, continuing to promote the free weekly film club, the carnival area and continuing to represent a benchmark for many organizations working in Scampia and other parts of Naples, as well as in other suburbs of Italy, and over the years have come in contact with Felix, with GRIDAS and our path consistency based on the respect of others.
always GRIDAS activities were self-financed and we have always refused any kind of sponsorship and patronage to maintain our consistency and freedom of action. The headquarters of

GRIDAS:

The headquarters of GRIDAS was immediately established in the abandoned premises of the center of the Rione Monte Rosa, at the start of Secondigliano House, later Scampia. The premises are owned
La stessa presenza del GRIDAS ha, di fatto, removed from the rooms occupied the expansion of the Camorra, as you know, in our area is used to take possession of abandoned places.
addition, on several occasions, we asked for a "regularization" of our position all'IACP but received no reply, for years. Felice Pignataro as in the letter sent March 16, 1994 the President of the District of Scampia, the Mayor of Naples, to the Culture of the City of Naples, the Human Resources Commission of the City of Naples and the President, asking dell'IACP inter alia, "The abolition of the consideration to be abusive in the belief that abuse is not who returns to the use Citizens structure abandoned for years and considered dangerous for the safety of themselves, but rather the power to expropriate years the citizens, for negligence, the structures that could improve their lives. "

A brief summary of current events:

Following an investigation of the traffic police, which led to the spot checks throughout the building and the identification of all occupants, in 2005 the parties by the Public Prosecutor's Office Naples preliminary investigation, which ended with the indictment of GRIDAS and some other occupiers for the crime of "invasion of public buildings." The GRIDAS refused the plea bargain because of the way go forward in the process (to be held in late December) means being able to tell their stories and see once and for all recognized their position in the building.
Parallel to this process, we had a tour of Architects sent dall'IACP structure was followed by a request for a letter written to ask (for the umpteenth time) to regularize the position of GRIDAS. We have duly complied with this request is not getting any response dall'IACP.
Upon our request, we held an informal meeting between the City of Naples, and IACP GRIDAS to try to find a possible solution to this paradox: an active reality in culture to produce territory as a battered and abandoned to Scampia being thrown out by the institutions that would impede the absence culture that serves as substrate for optimal growth of culture Camorra. Almost
surprise, then, yesterday morning (June 21, 2010) there has been served an order of eviction to be made within 15 days with a formal notice from continuing to occupy the premises under threat of forced eviction.

We wish to clarify that the premises are wholly occupied by GRIDAS painted murals Felice Pignataro we try to preserve as best we can because it no longer playable. For the history of GRIDAS and the disappearance of happiness that makes us important to the local ones GRIDAS can not and should not in our view be separated from structures that are both history and memory. Just recently, at our expense, the roof was resurfaced the entire building (not only of the premises occupied by us) to stop water leaks that undermined the tightness of the murals and the stability of the building, without the intervening IACP in any way.

Since GRIDAS is not and has never noticed the interests of a few, we feel, "public affairs".
We therefore appeal to everyone to rush to be mobilized and how they can know how best to ensure that the GRIDAS remains the social center of Via Monte Rosa 90 / b, House inaction of the district Scampia (Napoli).

Thursday, June 24, 2010 - 18:30
